  • I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Endeavor Press! What a creepy read! It reminded me of The Yellow Wallpaper as it tells the story of Connie, a happy woman with a loving family and the perfect husband who suddenly starts losing her mind. Patrice Chaplin is a playwright and it shows. Her dialogs are perfect and sound like conversations you would have in real life. The character development is impeccable, I wanted to strangle some of them and hug Con [...]

  • I was really intrigued by the description of this book and I started reading it as soon as it came down. The basis of the story was good but for me, it jumped around quite a bit and at times it became a bit unclear about who was speaking, that said I did enjoy it and thought it was quite a good read with a lot crammed in for the number of pages. It would be 3.5 stars from me for this one, I've rounded it up to 4 stars.

  • What the? Seriously? That's it?! I started this book due to its Tagline "Jack the Ripper" has returned. But what was mostly apparent was the incessant non-stop chatter between Connie and her husband Daniel and their friends Jane and Mark. No wonder Connie kept hearing voicese bloody ones never stopped bloody nattering!! There was no psychological horror, just some weak attempt of Jack the Ripper and his victims possessing Connie's mind which only drowned out the incessant chatter that seemed to [...]

  • I couldn't physically read this book past the first few chapters. It is so awfully written and the storyline is so cringey I honestly deleted it from my kindle without even trying to read the rest. Do not waste your money on this!

  • I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This did not effect my opinion of the book or my review itself.I'm honestly not entirely sure how I feel about this book. I didn't hate it, but I don't think I liked it either. I originally wanted to read it because of the tagline, Jack the Ripper has returned. But the main focus came across as four relatively unlikable characters (Connie, Daniel, Mark, and Jane), one of whom starts randomly having intense flashb [...]

  • I was intrigued by this book due to its Jack the Ripper tie-ins. But whew boy.The whole story was very vague. Things would happen that I didn't really understand. Dialogue that I didn't really 'get' was common -- not sure if this was a writing technique by the author, or if it was a British "thing" that went over my head. When I read about Connie, a mom of 3 young kids, working in the kitchen in a bikini, I had to double-check that the author was really a female. I can't imagine any woman doing t [...]

  • Boy, I had no idea when I started this book where it was going to lead. There were all sorts of set-ups and clues but it was a thrilling ride as Connie, the almost perfect woman, is drawn into a world she does not understand. Is she mad? What is this thing that is happening and how can she get the people closest to her to understand what is going on. The changes in her and her life are so monumental that the reader is drawn further and further into the quagmire to see where it will end up.It is a [...]

  • What a book/novella! You get sucked in right from the beginning. It's like you fall into Connie's life and it's full steam ahead. I can't imagine what it's like. She must wonder if she's going crazy or is possessed. It's wonderfully spooky/thrilling with a great cast of characters. I wish it hadn't felt so short. I wish it was longer. Great characterization on the author's part. I totally recommend this book!*I'd like to thank the author/publisher/Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book i [...]

  • A worrying modern story of possession and Jack the Ripper.Connie seems to be having hallucinations after a visit to a nightclubThe ending is quite unexpected and shocking. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.Great story.I was given a digital copy of this book by the publisher via Netgalley in return for an honest unbiased review.

  • Great read! I enjoyed having "Jack the Ripper" return in a book! I liked the main character a lot too. I can see this becoming a great seriesI received a digital copy from Net Galley & Endeavor Press in return I've given an honest review---thank you to both NG & Endeavor
