  • I must be the most naive person in the world to start this book not expecting smut. I got it as a "blind date with a book" because the premise sounded interesting - and whilst it really is interesting to read about sex work, I was expecting a mild plot at least, as I didn't realise that it was more non fiction. The book is memoir interspersed with info dumps about the trade.I haven't read the original book, so I didn't know what to expect here. It was definitely interesting, though, I'm glad Layl [...]

  • I admit, I picked this book up for super cheap at a book sale, so I went into it expecting just a tawdry little read, which essentially it is. At first, I thought the author was just another working girl not nearly as witty as those who have written tell-all books before her, just looking to cash in; but once she found her stride it somehow seemed to work. It's quite the dirty little book; the majority of it is sex, as may be obvious, and less about the woman herself. It's not nearly as endearin [...]

  • This book is rather enjoyable, I haven't read the other book that Miss S has written but I picked this one up anyway. The good thing is it doesn't appear to matter too much if you have read the other book or not, it's easy to get into.Of course this book isn't exactly something someone would read if they didn't want to have lots of sexual experiences in their book and obviously this has it, not with the delicate wording either but full on explaning of what she is doing and why she does it.The aut [...]

  • This book rocked. It also made me blush whenever I was reading it in public (which was most of my time commuting to and fro work). Miss S holds nothing back and her tales of being an escort in London will make you giggle, gasp and rethink any preconceived notions you may have about working girls. Now I need to go backwards and read the first book in this series!Warning: This book is not for the easily offended, the young, or the prude. It's graphic and all about sex.

  • Sadly, it's badly edited. Miss S is an escort, not an author, and the book has no direction, chapter titles and subheadings are used at random and there is no regularity. I admit I haven't read the first book. Sure, it's a topic we don't know much about, making it interesting, but there is nothing beyond initial intrigue about the job. No humour, not particularly well written.

  • Review from when I read the memoir four years ago:My biggest issue here is that I understand that Miss S sleeps with/does other sexual things with men for money. However, I am opposed to the fact that she sleeps with married men, by choice, while off the clock. It is one thing to just do her job and not ask questions, but this was too much for me.

  • This book was better than the first, though only by half a star. So I rated this 2 and a half stars and round it down to 2.A little more happens in this book, but I just don't think her story is especially interesting to me - she's a dependable and hard worker in the sex industry and since when was 'dependable' an interesting character trait?

  • Having read all of Belle de Jour's books this subject matter was not new to me but I enjoyed having it written about in a very different style, didnt like it quite as much as Belle's books but no the less enjoyed the honest experience of the job and all the amusing moments included.

  • This book was very so-so for meThere were some entertaining and funny parts, but I found myself getting bored with it all by the end.
