  • A powerful and emotional book about the authors pregnancies during and after pre-eclampsia. It takes you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions where you feel like you are with her throughout. I did find it a struggle to read where she went against the doctors advise but also her frustrations of when they didn't listen to her wishes. I wasnt sure how I would feel reading this and had my doubts being pregnant myself but found it was a very good book and I'm glad I did. Recommend to fans of non fict [...]

  • Don't judge a book by its cover or rather title. You might think what is preeclampsia? If you are planning to have a baby, do read this book because it will teach you some real life lessons e.g. asserting your rights as a patient / mother-to-be and how we shouldn't always follow unquestioningly just because doctors, nurses, nutritionists etc are the "experts" and yes you've the right to request not to be a guinea pig for medical students to probe at. This book is not just about a woman dealing w [...]

  • Not recommended for first time mothersUnfortunately there is a great deal of misinformation in the book. The author could have told her story, which is important to do, but she could have researched more. She injected too much speculation and not solid evidence. From a pure recounting of her 2 births, she did an excellent job describing what she felt (which is NOT how all women will perceive their births). I felt she gave an honest recounting of her emotions, sensations, and experiences. If you [...]

  • Amazing Journey.Having a baby is a joyous experience if everything goes as planned. But if you have any problems you can spend what should be a wonderful time, full of fear. This book tells the story of a woman who suffered with preeclampsia, a life-threatening condition. I enjoyed reading about this author’s brave journey.

  • I loved this book! It was not only interesting but extremely moving. I found the author to be real and relatable. I cried with her and I cheered for her!

  • A heroing talking of the crap that can happen to parents and babies when you have a high risk pregnancy. I am all for breastfeeding and am so mad for her ordeal in this. I am glad it all turned out well in the end though!Well done, Madison Lee!
