  • I received an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.Metta is a she-vamp. Her family thinks of her as ditzy and of basic intelligence. Her main goal in life according to them is to marry. Metta is much smarter then they think though and is nothing like she projects.Metta is brought into Orcus, an organization that trains it's agents well. They are smart and deadly. They are basically assassins that work for the good of the vampire world. The founders of Orcus do not have a high opinion of women e [...]

  • Meta Blautsauger is a vampire who was an agent for Orcus, the Nosferatu shadow agency. Nearly a century ago, after her mother had died, she resigned her position to raise her baby brother Since then she has become bored and accepted a request for help made by local priests to take out a human trafficking ring preying on children. Little did she know that she would draw the attention of Orcus and former mentor Lucas.Lucas O’Cuinn is an agent for Orcus. He first saw the potential in Meta years a [...]

  • I received a ARC from R. E. Mullins for an honest review via lop.Not sure how I feel about this book. It's not what I was expecting but it was not bad either.Metta is a she-vamp who's family see as a weak little female to be protected till she can be wed. Metta has other ideas. She's a fighter and a woman in her own right. Metta joins Orcus (the vampire secret service as i liked to think of them.) Training is brutal more so because she is female. But Metta is not a she-vamp to underestimate. Aft [...]

  • I really enjoyed the characters in this book. You don't expect a vampire to work with the local religious leaders to stop a trafficking ring that preys on immigrants. There were some really funny moments in the story. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Metta is around 200 years old. She has kept a lot of secrets from her family about her work as an assassin almost 100 years ago. They think she is weak and needs to be treated with care and it drives her crazy. She had left [...]

  • I was given a free ebook version of the book from the author, in exchange for an honest review, via the group Lovers of Paranormal. Another good read from R.E. Mullins. This book focuses on Metta, the younger female of the family. Her family see her as the errand girl and the ditzy one of the family. But little do they know about Mettas secret past, working for an agency called Orcus and being the complete opposite of what her family believes her to be.I really enjoyed seeing a different side t [...]

  • R. E. is an excellent author. She has a pleasant writing style that draws you into her story. The story is full of action, some romance and has a unique plot that I haven't seen so far, always a huge plus. The pace of the book is perfect and I never felt like I was rushed, nor did she drag things out.Metta is an incredible heroine. She is strong, yet has flaws, but never hesitates to help the ones in need. Metta is an extremely likable character and makes for a great heroine. Her counter Luke ma [...]

  • I give this book 3.5 stars. This is the third book in the Blautsaugers of Amber Heights series. There is violence and sex. This is a standalone book but has an open ending for future books in the series. Even though this is a standalone, it helps if you have read the first two books since it involves many of the same characters. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. There's a lot going on in the storyline from multiple characters. This book [...]

  • This was great. Watching Metta come into her own is an utter delight. Once again RE Mullins has delivered a strong but flawed female character who can handle herself and does not need a man to rescue her. She can slay the dragons herself! One of the most enjoyable things about this series of books, is funnily enough, the men. Although frustrated with their women at times, they also derive great pleasure in being outsmarted and outgunned by them. One of the most enjoyable things for me about these [...]

  • A big thank you to NetGalley and Wild Rose Press for the free ARC for my honest review.I have not read any of the previous books in this series-so I knew up front that I was taking a chance, but the story sounded interesting. This is probably not a truly stand alone book-but close. The one thing that I disliked was the amount of flashbacks-i felt it was a distraction. Regardless, i thought that Metta was a great character and the story was unique and interesting. Luke was fun as well. Overall a [...]

  • **Please note that I received this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**I had a hard time getting into this book. Once I was able to get into the book it did get better. I liked how the she-vamps interacted together. They were not blood-related but would do anything to protect each other. The preachers were a bit of a surprise. They knew Metta was a vampire and didn't care. They treated her like a person instead of passing judgement. In most books or movies, the preachers wouldn't [...]

  • This was an exciting read. It had some suspense, action, the right touch of humor, and a sizzling chemistry between Meta and Lucas. The characters were skillfully drawn and easily relatable. I especially loved the comic relief the “merry ministers” added to the story. This is the third book in the series. It can be enjoyed by itself without having read the previous books, but I would think reading them would lend some more color and understanding to the happenings in this one.LlaphReviewer f [...]

  • I received a ARC from R. E. Mullins for an honest reviewFinally I got to know the history of Metta. I have been waiting for this and the story evolved in a different way than i expected. Through the first two books she seemed sweet and innocent but beneath the surface she is different than how her family portrays her. She has a unknown depth to her personality that don´t shine through in the first two books. This is a really deep and nice story about Metta that I read at 24 hours. It was wonderf [...]

  • This is an action/love/do-gooder story. Metta a fiesty vampire who after one mission gone bad left the organization that trained her, leaving the love of her life Lucas. Now after 97 yrs she is wanted back and Lucas is to return her to the fold. Lucas finds that she is busy helping immigrants escape from slavers. We spend most of the time remembering how she fell in love in a time of corsets . It is so well written that I felt like I was watching it in person. I want to read the full line from th [...]

  • * I received this book as a giveaway from and R.E. Mullins*I found this book hard to get into at the start but once I got into the flow I really enjoyed it.You wouldn't know that this was the third book as it stands well on its own with enough detail for me to understand the characters. The characters are easy to like and follow along with. The story flows smoothly, and it's easy to forget the world and read away.

  • ***RECEIVED FROM GIVEAWAY***With all the vampire books out there it's hard to find one that stands out from the others. I think this one does, I really enjoyed the characters and the struggle of the females to stand break out of the old fashioned stereotype that they're weak Even she-vamps! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a supernatural action plot.

  • Very well written, I love the whole concept of living for hundreds of years as a real bad ass, it has to appeal to almost everyone that reads it. And of course the author has quite an imagination when it comes to the quite steamy love scenes. I have to give this book a thumbs up for originality.

  • Received an ARC for honest reviewThis book had me from page one. I have not read the others in the series but I will definitely be on the look out for them.
