  • [Note:  This book was provided free of charge by Moody Publishers.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.]On the face of it, this book has nothing (except perhaps the fact that both authors are women) to suggest that this is a book that is focused on mentoring for women.  Yet although the subject of mentoring is of interest for both men and women [1], this book relentlessly focuses on mentoring for women.  As is frequently the case with a book like this, written by women for women, although [...]

  • A great read that paves the way to the questions and considerations involved to finding, maintaining, and building a mentoring relationship. Solid biblical advice. Engaging voice. An enjoyable, relatable read that makes you think, not only about your own life but also about the people who have come along side you to support you.

  • I love Jayme's warm, conversational style in writing this book. She knows how to reach out to millennials. She includes things that they care about: dreams and potential for the future, as well as wrestling through the gap of struggling to get started in life. Her own examples of trying to find her life purpose and starting her own mentor relationship makes the book feel like you're sitting down for a cup of chai and some good advice from a woman who cares about you.The beauty of Face to Face is [...]

  • Mentoring is weird. We enter into relationship, walking through life, sharing experiences and growth. It sounds great, more and more people are recognizing the importance of this unique relationship and yet ask people how to find a mentor or how to mentor someone else and most people just stare blankly. In Face to Face Jayme Hull and Laura Captari explore the ins and outs of mentoring in a laid back and accessible format. In fact, at times I almost felt the book was to laid back as I sought out cl [...]

  • "Let's build a culture of supporting and nurturing and loving and celebrating each woman's uniqueness. Let's listen and encourage and speak life," writes Jayme Hull in her new book Face to Face. From the moment I began reading this booked I was captivated. Jayme does an incredible job and drawing the reader in and giving details of her own experiences, first as she works to discover herself and later as she walks with other young women as they try to do the same. I highly recommend this book to [...]

  • I get mentoring, I can see the benefits of it. I don't think it needs to be as formal as what this book has you believe. The book is a great book, it has advise on why we need mentors, how to find a mentor, how to resolve conflict. At the end of each chapter there are response questions, that you can use during your mentoring session. I have the book marked up. It has great advice in it on how to be the best woman you can be.I guess I just find myself lucky that in my church I can talk to and as [...]

  • Through Face to Face, Jayme puts into words something that my heart longed for a few years ago…a mentor…someone to pray with, be real with and talk through “life stuff” with. Through personal stories and words from scripture, she outlines the great need for an awakening of mentors in my generation. She paints a true picture of what mentoring looks like and how it inspires and shapes lives. Jayme dives directly into struggles and insecurities we face as women, and she encourages authentic [...]

  • This book is packed full of practical, applicable wisdom. The stories Jayme shares are so relatable. I've benefited from mentoring most of my life, but reading this book made me really come to terms with just how essential and valuable godly mentoring truly is. I can't wait to share this with my friends. This book is for anyone, but particularly millennials who are just now trying to get a handle on how to do this thing called life will benefit from reading this. I appreciate how it reads like a [...]

  • Really enjoyed this book as it challenged me and pushed me to take a look at the excuses and areas of my life that were awkward and uncomfortable but necessary to become the person God wanted me to be. I just wish the author would have made it more gender neutral though! I didn't realize until a chapter in that it was specifically geared towards women, but by then I was hooked. I think men could benefit from the wisdom in this book as well, just felt weird to keep reading to her specifically ref [...]

  • Jayme Hull does a phenomenal job of showing the importance of mentoring. Jayme writes "Being a woman in today's world is hard enough,as most of us juggle multiple roles. But going through life with the deep inner presumption that "I am alone in this" can push any of us to the breaking point." She gives a step by step tutorial if you will on every area of mentoring with many examples from her being mentored to her mentoring. Jayme gives sound, clear,Godly advice and many analogies that will resona [...]

  • Have you ever thought about being a mentor or having a mentor in your life? Can you think of women in your life who have taught you things and shown God's love through their everyday actions? This book by Jayme Lee Hull gives the reader the knowledge of how to find a mentor and how to be a mentor. She also explains why we need mentors. We can all learn from each other, but, finding just the right person to mentor or to be your mentor needs special thought. Biblical examples are given and there a [...]

  • Mentorship is critical to spiritual growth, yet these relationships are unfortunately sparse in the local church. Jayme Hull highlights how God created us to live life in relationship and the importance of having a constant source of loving truth in a mentor for life's ups and downs. She approaches this critical topic in a way that is easy and fun to read, but with an passion that motivates the reader to action. Highly recommended!

  • "Finding a mentor can definitely be awkward, difficult and even discouraging at timesbut I can tell you it is well worth it because faith is a journey that I dare not walk alone in."One of my favorite quotes from this book. My mentor and I shared some of the most difficult trials in our lives together. Her example of authenticity, faith, joy, and constant "truth in love" wisdom was and continues to be an irreplaceable blessing in my journey as a believer.

  • This book was not only about mentoring and being mentored, but it also shared so much practical wisdom about living life connected first and foremost to Jesus Christ. I am now motivated to find a mentor and pray how God can use me to mentor someone else. As a woman in my 40's I still have so much to learn but also so much to share. I highly recommend Face to Face.

  • Finally material on mentoring God's way! Jayme Hull fills each page with years of wisdom and experience. There is such a need for mentoring and finding a guide to help navigate one's path. This book is a great start to what can become a life changing experience. A must read if you are a mentor and especially if you are looking for a mentor or guidance!

  • A book to refer to and re-read time and again. Woven into the guidelines of finding and being a mentor, is this simple, sweet thought -- to have a friend you need to be a friend.

  • I thought this was an easy read and well done. It reaches out well to those that may have the same fears etc. However, there were things that were almost too traditional for me. One of them being that she strictly focus' on women mentoring women. Which is great. Mentoring can be great anywhere. Here is my full review: viabella-thebeautifullife
