***3.75 STARS***This was a pretty cute little story that sucked me right in from the very start and made me smile in many parts of this book. It was cool to watch Ashlyn's transformation from a frightful young girl (skiddish from years of abuse), trying to get on her feet after being thrown out of her house with no money or belongings, to a woman who finally gets back her self esteem and finds a family who truly loves her. Brutal and beautiful, one of my favorite books this year. Holy so-similar-to-my-life-story Batman! Having attended a couple of online book chats before I read WRITTEN ON MY HEART I already knew that the author had drawn from her own personal experiences with homelessness for the story. Some books resonate with bits of our past. This book was one that did just that. Ash is a broken girl trying to put the pieces back together. Growing up in an abusive household, she escapes and tries to find her feet. Fear makes up her world and she struggles to make heads or tails of what she needs to do and to find a place she can be safe. Her new job as a barista is a good start. When co-worker Emily befriends her and she meets her brother Lane, her world spins off its axis once again.Homeles [...]

For a girl who's been through so much, Ashlyn keeps it together pretty well. Her move forward attitude resonated with me. Lane is sexy and attracted to her but he has commitments that he must put ahead of his own interests. It's fun to see them find their way. Great story. Big kudos for not making a young adult story about the immaturity that is typically found in that age but of the strengths.

Ponerle tres estrellas me parece un poco injusto, pero bueno, el mundo no es una fábrica de conceder deseos(?) *llora*Me gustó. Es un lindo libro para pasar el rato y sufrir un poco :3

Something that Ashlyn said in this story stayed with me and that was “it doesn’t matter is you have a mom and dad, it just matters if you have love.”This is my first read by Ms. Cole and I totally loved it. While I don't typically read books listed as YA, something about the description of this book when I saw it on Net Galley really caught my interest. 4 starsWritten on my Heart was an emotional and heartfelt read.I really enjoyed reading Written on my Heart, it was one of those books that you didn't want to put down.I enjoyed seeing Ashlyn and Lane get together, they both had walls up and it was heartwarming seeing them open up to each other and let themselves be loved.Overall this was a good read and I highly recommend it.Thank you Entangled Embrace via Netgalley for the advance copy.
