  • I thought this was really cute, but Muffin was not amused at the dragons being dressed up in pink and ruffles.

  • 3-3.5 stars. Not quite 4, but still good and worth a read. The story is a pretty simple one, with a little dragon making new friends with a pair of princesses who have wandered into his land and upset his "normal." Some fun word play (love the phrase "pastel pests"!) and not a bad message about making friends. The story could have used a few more lines/pages about the knight and his dragon plans, and about the result of the dragon/princess rescue plan. The story as-is felt just a little jumpy at [...]

  • Princesses have taken over the dragon's land. What is the strongest, meanest, toughest dragon going to do about it? He thinks he has a good idea, but when it goes wrong only the princesses are left to help save the day! It's a cute book about the rough-and-tumblr being able to exist alongside the ruffles and glitter of flowers-and-glitter crew. The book highlights how neither interest has to exclude the other and can help break down the barriers between these two groups since children so often se [...]

  • A little dragon tells a story about the day his dragon kingdom was invaded by two dangerous creatures: princesses! The princesses (one white-skinned, one dark) charm the other dragons, but not the one telling the story. He doesn’t like the way they are changing the land by planting flowers and encouraging the wearing of ruffles. All his efforts to get rid of them fail, until finally he thinks to ask a knight to come rescue them. When that plan goes badly awry, the dragon is forced to ask the p [...]

  • Favorite phrase: "pastel pests" but the story line jumps and the pictures don't always keep up with the text. At the beginning of the story we have one dragon, but there are many shown. On the "They snacked." page -are they eating hot peppers??Lots of phrases/expressions/figurative language to discuss, such as "The dragon had reached his boiling point."The ending seemed awkward to me - the knight was supposed to help, but didn't seem to net the dragons in a malicious way. His intentions weren't [...]

  • Cute picture book about a dragon being mad that princesses have come and princess-fied the dragon's homeland. He gets a knight to come save them from the princesses but the knight captures the dragons instead and the angry dragon has to go enlist the aid of the princesses. Normally princess books make me want to puke for reinforcing ridiculous gender stereotypes and indoctrinating a new generation but this one has racially diverse princesses (still all thin, still all long haired) and the prince [...]

  • Dragon ruled the forest with his dragon friends until two frilly princesses moved in and took over. They refused to burp and breath fire. Instead they converted all the other dragons in cutesy, ruffled creatures. Finally Dragon enlisted the help of a knight he found sleeping in the woods. But that knight did not remove the princesses, he captured all his dragon friends. Dragon was stooped to asking the princesses for help. Together they rescued his dragon friends, drove the knight out of the for [...]

  • Absolutely adorable story with cute and hilarious illustrations that upends stereotypes of pretty princesses. The little dragon might think the princesses drool initially, but not after they save the day!One of my favorite details is all the little animals throughout that have tiny dragon wings--so fun for kids to find.

  • A dragon's plan to get rid of the floral princesses invading his land backfires spectacularly when the knight he hired kidnaps the dragons instead of rescuing the girls. Will he find a way to save his dragon friends? With perhaps, some unlikely allies? Will the princesses see the appeal of eating fire peppers and burping explosions?

  • What's a dragon to do when frilly and flowery princesses invade his dark and rocky kingdom? This is a darling story about expectation, flexibility, and friendship. The illustrations are absolutely enchanting. Be sure to peek under the book jacket, too!

  • Pair this entertaining friendship adventure with Super Happy Magic Forest for a fantastical, adventurous storytime.

  • This was OK. Princesses who tamed dragons and then they turned in the end a little gritty and a little prissy. I didn't find it all that cute or all that funny, it was just OK.

  • As we all know, repetitive ones are not my thing. That said the ending was cute and I never knew how badly I needed to see a dragon in a tutu.

  • This book it's really cool!!! I read it to my 8 year old brother and he reaaally enjoyed it!! Plussss the colors, the art it's really beautiful and loved it!! ❤

  • A super cute book about a dragon who is upset with his new princess neighbors for being cute and fancy. A great read a loud for elementary children about making new friends.

  • This is so great! My 4 year-old daughter loves Dragon's point of view--princesses are ruffly dangerous creatures who cannot be trusted!

  • Better one-on-one than with a group because to really "get" it, kids need to study the pictures and have vocabulary and other things explained. The young fives groups didn't really understand it.

  • I thought the artwork was pretty fun.The little dragon and his hot pepper diet is also fun. I liked the tough yet kind princesses in this tale and the sweet ending. Kids enjoyed the book.

  • I read an early draft of this book and fell in love with this dragon and the fiery princesses who aren't afraid to stand up to him.
