Ok so let me start by saying that there's nothing technically wrong with this book. Landon and Gabriella are a sweet couple. Power Play is the second book in Sophia Henry's Pilots Hockey series. Each book can be considered a stand alone since each focuses on a different couple. I read the first Pilots Hockey novel, Delayed Penalty, when it first released last year. I gave it a 3.5 and knew I wanted to read the next book. After reading Power Play, I can definitely say that I am hooked on Sophia Henry's, Pilots Hockey series! I love how we get to read from the perspective of players and their loved ones, and experience the struggle and effort it takes to try and make it into the NHL. DNF - really couldn't connect with the main character. Sensitive subject matter within the plot dealt with in a way I couldn't quite grasp.Mysoginistic undertones throughtout as part of the plot. It does getr resolved HOWEVER it was entirely annoying/frustrating for the most part.Such a shame as I adores Landon.

I got to 30% before I stopped because I just couldn't connect with either Landon or Gaby. I know this is NA but they just seemed so immature. There was a lot of back and forth and having the same cover station over and over. I skipped ahead a bit and it was just more of the same. I did enjoy book 1 so maybe it was just that these characters weren't my type.

I'm counting this book for the 2015 Popsugar reading challenge under cateogry: book set in my hometown. It actually isn't set in my hometown, but nothing is, and nothing ever will be, as far as I'm aware. Most books set in Michigan are set in fake towns, so props to this one for being set in an actual Michigan city (Detroit). This is such a tough one for me to review. I re-read the first book, Delayed Penalty, and found I liked it A LOT better than I did the first time.
