When I saw that Jory Strong had returned to the world of the Angelini I was ecstatic. I so loved the characters and wanted an opportunity to see them again. While they were not prominent in Vampire’s Companion, they did make an appearance and my need was satisfied, a little. It was also satisfied because Ms. Strong gave us a glimpse of what to expect as the Angelini’s gather, but that is not the focus of this story involving Terach, Israel and Cia. Too short to be believable. You don't see the past that brings them together, you don't see how it could be possible to overcome problems in a NY minute.Ms Strong is really a good writer and she strives for real erotica (not porn), but I always get bummed by the too much sex in her books. Yes, I know I sound absurd, and maybe I am, but she does write interesting plot and it's always irritating to see them diluted (or dragged) by sex scenes (some of which aren't "natural"-flowing within the plot) [...]

This is a continuation of the Angelini series. If it has been a while since you have read the series, I would recommend that you skim through them since the novel talks/mentions about events that happen in the previous novels. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story. I have always liked the way Jory Strong develops a story/series and she does not disappoint. The sex scenes were hot! I totally enjoyed this novella! It's set in the author's Angellini world and includes some of the main characters such as Bran, Syndelle, Gian and Skye. The story is about the female cop who was saved by a vamp who made her his companion. I had been hoping for a continuation of the Angellini series and this give us a brief look into what was happening now that the Masada was found!

Overall, this worked fairly well for me, partly because I'm a fan of mmf menage. Actually, the strength of the book was less the potential triad relationship and just as much the setting of a cop with major doubts about (but also very much pulled towards) a vampire, so fans of paranormal heat may find this to be enjoyable.

I really liked the other stories in this series but this one was not as good. This book contained a mystery to be solved but it seemed more like n afterthought rather then an important a part of the story. Mostly focused on the relationship between the characters.

I loved this book. It was a great fast hot read. My only complaint is that it was so short. I eagerly await the next book in this series. This author has created a wonderful rich world and culture that lives alongside ours and I for one love to explore it.

Hot, but the character development was a little lacking.

I love Jory's stories and the Angeliny series is awesome.
