  • Very good book with fantastic suspense. I really liked both Cara and Mason. Cara runs a women's clinic where she assists women who are pregnant and helps them find homes for their babies if they want to go the adoption route. Someone has started murdering and mutilating these women and Mason is the detective assigned to the case. He and Cara had had a brief romance before he walked away from her. He was stunned to find her pregnant and even more so to find out that the baby is his. Cara is very [...]

  • I waited a week to read this book, and it did not disappoint me. This book had me on the edge of my seat. Cara, had fallen hard for Mason, the Sexy cowboy cop one weekend. Three weeks after he left, she found out she was pregnant. Mason made it clear he didn’t want a relationship. So In Cara’s mind, why would he want a child? She is shocked when a body is found on a ranch, and it is Mason that calls her to the scene. Mason is just as shocked when he see’s Cara is very pregnant. From here t [...]

  • In Herron’s romantic suspense novel, Detective Mason Blackpaw is dedicated to his job. When he discovers a dead body at the Bucking Bronc Lodge, he’s forced to face the woman he left behind—a very pregnant Dr. Cara Winchester.Their romance was brief but intense, and when is it was over, Blackpaw walked away unaware that he had left a part of himself behind. Now a killer was kidnapping her patient’s babies and Mason was there to ensure justice at all costs.A strong addition to the Bucking [...]

  • Nothing new or original. The romance didn’t really develop throughout the story until near the end. ALWAYS the same TSTL moments in all of Harlequin, it’s become very predictable. Heronine always leaves from where she’s working or living to go do something and that’s ALWAYS when the perpetrator captures the heroine. And it’s also a little annoying how everyone dies and gets injured but by the end of the book, yet the heroine gets saved. I’m not saying the ending should have showed th [...]

  • Gave this book 4/5 stars. I haven't read that many Harlequin Intrigue novels really, but I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. The characters and the story line were interesting enough to keep me reading. The beginning was a little hard to get through, but it was good that the action started right away or it would have been hard to stay interested. I kind of had a problem with the ending because I don't I thought it would have been the Pastor of the church but it was just some random g [...]

  • Good little mystery with likable characters (though the heroine borders on TSTL) - I'm not usually a fan of reunion stories, but this was a decent one. It kept me entertained for a couple of hours, and that's mainly what I'm looking for in a book. I had a few quibbles with loose ends - Cara's past secrets were hinted at, but that angle never came up again. The same with the Reverend - but since this is part of a series, he may pop up again. (view spoiler)[And couldn't the killer have appeared ea [...]
