  • Don't hold on to the past and never cheat your fate that is planned for you. The tides of war are turning to the Rebellion, but they have to get through many obstacles to reach what they desire, peace throughout the galaxy. Continuing the graphic novel of At war with the Empire, Luke Skywalker is challenged with the un-forgivable deeds his father has engraved on the galaxy already. To help him along the way, Princess Leia, one of the top generals for the Rebellion, is helping her friend through [...]

  • "General" Skywalker:- Luke is a bit egotistical in this story. He still thinks he can do it all. *sigh* Tapping into the Force during the Battle of Yavin made his head grow.- Some of the art isn't the best, but it did help add to the story - especially the two-page spread enveloping both trilogies.- Able 1707 seemed like a non-Jango clone at times. He didn't age well, IMO. As in, he should appear older. Model Officer- From the cover, I was worried the art wouldn't be good, but it's the same crew [...]

  • The struggling Rebellion has won their first major victory by destroying the Death Star, but the war against the Empire has just begun.Farm boy turned hero Luke Skywalker gets his first inkling of what it once meant to be a Jedi; Luke and Princess Leia encounter a society that blames its plight on the Clone Wars " traitor" Anakin Skywalker; a powerful crime lord leads the Empire, the Rebels, and his own spies in a circle of betrayal; Darth Vader lures Luke, Leia, and Han to a desolate moon for a [...]

  • These Omnibus collections include about 20 issues from the Empire and Rebellion series of Dark Horse comics. There are several arcs included, of varying quality. My favorite is Small Victories, focusing on a rebel with self-doubts getting roped into an important mission. Another good one is Breaking the Ice, which highlights Leia and Han in the days just before Empire Strikes Back. The main section of the book, In the Shadows of their Fathers and the Ahakista Gambit, aren't nearly as entertainin [...]

  • Slightly better in most ways from the previous volume, but not quite enough to earn another star. The cheesecake art makes its return in one story arc, but otherwise the art is generally better in this volume. Many of the stories portray loss, but aren't quite as dark as in the previous volume. There's still not that much that's memorable, but it at least feels a bit closer to the spirit of the original trilogy.

  • As I think I've indicated in my status updates, I really enjoyed most of this, and I can see the stories in here being put on the silver screen least I can hope and dream. There are so many cool things in the Star Wars universe and in many of the stories, and, lately, I can't get enough of them. I only wish they were cheaper to buy. I buy as many as I can find used, and they still tend to be pricey.

  • I suppose this omnibus was good but I have already forgotten most of the storylines. The Ahakista Gambit was good and I liked the story linking back to Jabim. It had good artwork at least. Most of the other stories were pretty forgetable though I like the introduction of Deena Shan in Small Victories.

  • Same as Vol 1, good and bad. It takes place between New Hope and Strikes Back. The good"General" SkywalkerModel OfficerSmall VictoriesBreaking the IceThe badIn the Shadows of Their FatherHan Solo's art work. Doesn't look like him.
